According to the latest UNESCO report, the percentage of literate women over 15 years of age in Côte d’Ivoire is 32.5%. Hence, as we have previously done in Dema, Bodouakro, and Sikaboutou, we are working towards women’s literacy project in Petit Korhogo, Daloa.

The literacy project includes health education and raising awareness about the importance of vaccinations as well as schooling for children. The project aims to reduce the illiteracy rate and improve the social and labor market integration of 50 women.

Started in 2018, the project was expanded in 2019 and now includes:

  • Reading, writing, and basic calculation course (delivery of basic school supplies included).
  • Health education course.
  • Raising awareness about the importance of schooling for children.
  • Raising awareness about the importance of vaccinating children and giving information on the state vaccination schedule.
  • Self-employment through profit-generating activities.

Beneficiaries: 50 women

Indirect beneficiaries: 855 women and men (residents).
