BEYMAR VELASCO, DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL HUMANITARIA BOLIVIA

For nearly two decades, Global Humanitaria Bolivia has been working in Valle Alto, Cochabambino, promoting participatory processes and social transformation, carrying out projects to establish and strengthen school canteens and organic gardens, as well as providing basic school supplies and promoting education with a gender-based approach.

During our most recent operations, we have invited teachers and students from the Ismael Montes Higher School for Teacher Training into our educational efforts. They develop pedagogical strategies to work on the issues of agricultural production of vegetables, revival of ancestral knowledge, and education with a gender-based approach in classrooms.

We also tackle climate change and its effects with the Educational Communities, which are seen as key settings for the development of participatory and inclusive environmental education processes. In this regard, we carry out reforestation efforts, both in educational units and in communities most affected by climate change. Furthermore, we work on the proper use of water and solid waste management.
