In schools in Tumaco we intervene to improve the nutrition and healthy habits of children and their families. So in recent weeks we have done:
> activities in schools, such as the Healthy Lunchbox Workshop , to explain to children which foods are most suitable for their consumption, which have a better supply of nutrients and are therefore better and more necessary for their health and growth, such as dairy products, fruits and vegetables, compared to other less healthy foods that they tend to consume. Recommendations were also left so that teachers can provide support in these consumption dynamics.
> we accompany the initiative of the Postobón Boom Foundation, in a space for training teachers on the importance of physical activity and how to encourage it among their students, as well as the consumption of healthy foods . The training has motivated the team that will organize the celebration of the International Day of Physical Activity (in April) and helped our team of nutritionists to learn new strategies to complement it.
> We have also concluded the theoretical part of the family garden workshops, in which we have shared and taught how to condition the land and prepare it for planting, fertilizing and growing vegetables. This month we start planting and preparing organic fertilizers.
