At Kumirmari we have organized sessions on the importance of menstrual health and hygiene for the well-being of women and adolescents. The talks were given by the medical team that participates in our health program.

In addition to addressing the topic, it allows us, on the one hand, to address the topic from the health side, explain menstrual hygiene rules, dispel misconceptions about it, and promote healthy practices. On the other hand, it helps us start a dialogue with the community about a taboo topic, make visible the associated problems such as school absenteeism, lack of means to maintain hygiene and infections that can occur and, in the same way, raise self-esteem. and empower girls and women. During the session, pads were distributed among the 127 participating women and girls.

On the other hand, women who participate in the Woman to Woman program have been able to attend the gynecology consultation where they have been treated for various ailments and/or pathologies ranging from menstrual problems, ovarian pain or abdominal pain.

Menstrual health and hygiene is one of the global objectives foreseen in the 2030 Agenda ,   and involves both the access of girls and adolescents to information  about the menstrual cycle  and affordable access to hygiene resources and services, medical care in case of problems and participation in the different spheres of their life without exclusion or discrimination by the period .
