In Cambodia we have provided training to technical staff from the Treang Education Office to supervise teaching work in primary schools in the district . After the training, these 20 supervisors have visited 20 centers attended by 5,000 schoolchildren. There they have detected deficiencies in specific areas such as Khmer and mathematics, as well as various difficulties on the part of teachers when developing pedagogical approaches. They have also observed gaps in monitoring student progress, participation and the involvement or support of families.
These actions are part of Global Humanitaria’s educational program that aims to improve the quality of the teaching provided and access to healthy environments from school, for which it teaches hygiene and health sessions and installs water supplies in school buildings.
In addition to the training of supervisors, the program provides for the training ofteachers from 10 schools in innovative educational strategies to improve the learning of around 2,500 primary school students.
