Schoolchildren from Tarata and Arbieto together with their teachers have been developing educational robotics experiments with the material provided by Global Humanitaria a few months ago for the creation of toy libraries. This activity aims to encourage creativity and practical learning, motivating students to carry out simple experiments using the materials provided in the Basic Educational Robotics Kit and recycled material.
Throughout the month of October, schools have been visited to provide technical assistance in the development of these experiments with schoolchildren who have been learning to build basic electronic circuits to make small, playful robots built with electronic components and recycled materials such as bottle caps, PET bottles, cardboard boxes, etc.
The education project adds new components that deepen the scope of the action. Its objective is to strengthen the pedagogical processes of reading and writing, logical-mathematical reasoning and/or elementary science-technologyin vulnerable schools in the area. To achieve this, we work together with educational authorities and teaching teams to achieve the following results:
→ Establishment of a validated pedagogical model to strengthen the development of reading and writing skills in early childhood students.
→ Installation of playrooms in 24 educational units to promote logical-mathematical and scientific-technological thinking.
These actions reach more than 3,500 schoolchildren from dispersed communities, where vulnerability rates are very high: limited access to services, extreme poverty, job insecurity, low school enrolment, lack of connectivity, among other problems.
