To improve the health and nutrition of vulnerable and indigenous communities of Puno, in recent months we have carried out actions with the support of teachers, families and authorities, which include:
→ Vegetable production in organic gardens of 21 schools and support for the preparation of the school menu→ School Nutritional Evaluation (weight and height) of students from 23 schools→ Improvement of the facilities (kitchens etc.) of 21 school canteens→Production of traditional Andean crops such as native potatoes, alfalfa and forage oats in school and family gardens→Agricultural technical assistance: cleaning, natural fertilizer, vegetable planting rotation, re-seeding, agricultural work and harvests. Accompaniment and training in the cultivation and harvesting process (open field and under phytotoldos) Delivery of vegetable seeds and seedlings (with greater tolerance to climatic adversities) to 278 families.→Safe water in 8 schools. Construction of wells to improve the sources of access, conduction and water storage for about 900 primary school students, 73 teachers in Coata, Cabana, Cabanillas and Vilque, districts affected by environmental pollution for an optimal supply of food service, hygiene and sanitation services and adequate irrigation of school gardens.Our scope → 1,760 children> 1,512 families >175 teachers> 21 schools
