MORROCO
On September 11, 2023, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake caused 2,901 deaths and 5,530 injuries, especially in the most isolated and impoverished rural areas of the Atlas, where adobe constructions are common.

A team from Global Humanitaria traveled to the earthquake’s epicenter, Amizmiz, one of the towns most affected by the quake, south of Marrakech, to deliver emergency aid: 1,000 food rations, water, and hygiene products.

They also identified the most urgent needs of the population and determined how to be most helpful and effective in the months following the earthquake, with special emphasis on the safety of affected children.
