Over 2,000 schoolchildren participating in our reinforcement programme in Sunderbans and Murshidabad have been preparing for their semester exams in recent months. In our schools, they improve their learning with the support of teachers trained in basic subject pedagogy. This way, they can stay in formal school for longer, at least until they finish primary school.

The educational program we develop includes recreational and sports activities as well as the celebration of festivities such as “International Yoga Day” or “World Environment Day” which are used to hold talks, contests and actions such as planting trees.

On the other hand, more than 1,240 children receive regular nutritious food support   at the Sunderbans booster centres. The “common pot” we prepare includes boiled eggs, rice and dried chickpeas. This increases the children’s attendance and is helping develop their physical and cognitive growth.

The teachers, whom we have trained as health promoters since the pandemic, have conducted replica sessions with the schoolchildren on health, nutrition and hygiene, insisting especially on cleaning the environment to reduce mosquitoes and flies during this monsoon season and to avoid dengue, dysentery and scabies, the most common pathologies that doctors Hari Pada and Murari Mohan Mondal treat in their care of children and their families.
