A team from Global Humanitaria has delivered emergency aid packages, with food and hygiene products to more than 150 families in the most deprived areas and furthest from humanitarian aid centers in the province of Hatay (Turkey). The last actions we have carried out in Antakya and Samantag.
Since last February 6, when the earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 occurred, which have left more than 41,000 deaths, more than 7,000 aftershocks have been registered in the country. On the 21st, a new earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred in the same province of Hatay, one of the areas most affected by earthquakes and the destination of our emergency actions.
With the rescue teams removed from the rescue tasks, there remains the need to help those who saved their lives but have lost everything, since they need water, food, and emotional attention, especially children. Thus, to the packages with necessities, among which there were baby food or specific feminine hygiene items, we added packs for children, with notebooks and some more playful elements, as you can see in the images.
