After the winter holidays, classes have restarted in Cochabamba in August and with them the 6 school canteens in the municipalities of Vacas, Tarata and Arbieto have been put back into operation
to reinforce and improve the nutrition of the students.
Our food safety program develops two lines of action:
– school canteens , to ensure adequate and diversified food for students, promoting community participation in planning and preparing meals. To do this, we have the support of a nutritionist who also provides training to families on preparing nutritious menus, food hygiene and health. In addition, Global Humanitaria provides protein supplements based on regular supplies of meat, eggs and sardines.
– school, family and community organic gardens to achieve diversified and ecological food production (vegetables) for use in school supplementary feeding.
