Within the educational program that Global Humanitaria carries out in 29 schools in Cochabamba, these are the latest activities we are doing:
In Vacas, Tarata, and Arbieto , we have supported chess tournaments, which are very important on the school calendar. In these tournaments, chess becomes a pedagogical tool that promotes strategic thinking, concentration, and respect for the rules. Active participation and growing interest reflect the positive impact this initiative is having on the municipality. Since 2024, Global Humanitaria has supported these events to promote chess as an educational tool, providing schools with games and enabling more students to prepare, practice, and actively participate.
In Vacas , a reading competition was held , bringing together children representing all the primary schools. This allowed us to evaluate the literacy improvement strategies we implemented in the municipality’s pilot schools.
In the municipality of Tarata, we have launched play centers at the Pampa Mamata school, a pilot program that has shown very positive results. Classroom spaces have been set up with educational and play-based resources and materials to foster the children’s holistic development. The teachers’ active participation transforms the play centers into dynamic, creative spaces connected to the community’s cultural reality.
Reach: 6,431 primary school students
